Semarang - On Friday, November 22, 2024, the Indonesian Electrical Engineering and Informatics Research Association (ARTEII) held the 1st International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI 2024) online via Zoom. With the theme “Challenges and Solutions for Secure and Scalable Data Architectures in Informatics,” this event is an important forum to discuss cutting-edge issues in the field of electrical engineering and informatics, by presenting experts from within and outside the country.
The event was opened with remarks from Dr. Eng. Ir. Wahyul Amien Syafei, S.T., M.T., IPM, who emphasized the importance of global collaboration in overcoming challenges in secure and scalable data architecture. He appreciated the enthusiasm of the participants and speakers who attended, while hoping that this conference would be able to produce innovative and applicable solutions.
The keynote speaker, Lukman Medriavin Silalahi, A.Md., ST, MT, IPM, delivered an insightful presentation on the urgent need to create a data architecture system that is not only secure but also flexible in the face of exponential data growth. According to him, the integration of the latest technologies, such as blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI), is a potential solution that can be implemented globally.
Ashwin Sankaran from Conga The Revenue Company, USA, kicked off the session by discussing “Challenges & Solutions for Secure and Scalable Data Architecture in Informatics”. He outlined various technical challenges in building a secure data architecture, such as cybersecurity threats, network instability, and the need to support high scalability. In his presentation, Ashwin introduced the concept of hybrid cloud and edge computing technologies that can optimize efficiency without sacrificing security.
Next, Sabam Parjuangan, S.T., M.Kom, presented the topic “Challenges and Solutions for Secure and Scalable Data Architecture using Blockchain.” Sabam explained how blockchain technology can be the answer to the challenges of data security and transparency. He presented several case studies of blockchain implementations in the financial and healthcare sectors, which demonstrated success in maintaining data integrity while providing flexibility to decentralized architecture-based systems.
The last session was presented by Prof. Dr. Atilla ELÇI, who discussed the theme “Interplay of AI and Cybersecurity: How Will It Affect All?” Prof. Atilla outlined how AI can be used to detect cyber threats in real-time, but he also warned of the risk of misguided use of AI by irresponsible parties. According to him, the synergy between AI and the right cybersecurity strategy is key to facing future challenges, especially in an increasingly digitally connected world.
Guided by moderator Hari Widi Utomo, S.Pd., M.Ed, the event was dynamic with active interaction between speakers and participants. Novita Al Ihyak Dieni, S.Pd., M.Pd, as the MC ensured that the event ran smoothly and energetically.
This conference succeeded in becoming an inspiring discussion forum, opening new insights, and providing concrete solutions related to data architecture challenges in the world of informatics. ICEEI 2024 proves ARTEII's commitment to continue contributing to the development of science and technology that is relevant to global needs.
